Greg Kihn, longtime KFOX FM Morning Man, Inducted into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame
July 26, 2012 – San Francisco, CA – Greg Kihn, the longest reigning #1 Classic Rock Radio morning man in the San Francisco Bay Area, broadcasting on KFOX FM 102.1 San Francisco and 98.5 San Jose, proudly announces his induction into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame (http://www.bayarearadio.org/). Greg Kihn broke into radio in 1996 on KFOX doing overnights and then graduated into hosting his own Greg Kihn Morning Show. Outside of his radio career, Kihn is best known as the inimitable Beserkley Records recording artist of the 1980’s with chart-topping songs and MTV videos for “Jeopardy” and “The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em Like That).” KFOX FM 102.1 San Francisco and 98.5 San Jose is the largest Classic Rock super station west of the Mississippi in the fourth largest radio market in the United States.
The latest members of the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame will be celebrated for their achievements in broadcasting on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at a special luncheon at the Doubletree Inn on the Berkeley Marina.

The criteria for eligibility in the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame includes many intangibles. At its very essence, the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame tries to keep in mind one overriding question: can you tell the story of San Francisco Bay Area radio without including this person in it? Moreover, a nominee must have made an extraordinary impact on the broadcasting history of the Bay Area for which they received widespread recognition or a nominee must have contributed significantly to the growth and development of radio broadcasting as an industry primarily through their work in the Bay Area.
Greg Kihn recently released his new album, Greg Kihn Band: Best of Beserkley, 1974-1985, as both hardcopy CD and digital download. Best of Beserkley, 1974-1985’s 21-tracks features 19 Greg Kihn remastered original hits drawn from Greg’s eight-of-nine full-length Beserkley Records studio albums, including The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘em Like That), Jeopardy, Happy Man and Reunited, along with two tribute tracks to Bruce Springsteen (long considered one of Greg’s biggest musical influences), Rendezvous and For You. Greg Kihn is also a prolific novelist and his four novels and one book of short stories will be available on iPad and Kindle later in 2012. Greg also has a screenplay in development for a new cable series about how the mafia ran the music industry in New York City during the early 1960′s. Described as a cross between ‘The Sopranos-Meets-Almost Famous,’ “45 RPM,” could be on a major cable network in 2013.
